Polyethylene is a thermoplastic polymer formed from a long hydro-carbon chain, depending on the crystallinity and molecular weight of the melting point and the polyethylene gas transition can or cannot be observed. the temperature at which the melting point and the gas transition occur varies greatly depending on the type of polyethylene itself.

Polyethylene is a rather stable molecule and only polymerizes through contact with the catalyst. This conversion is very exothermic, namely the process of releasing a lot of heat.
